What is it?: It is the Holy Father’s invitation to the whole world to live the Jubilee as a time of hope, reconciliation and spiritual renewal

The Holy Door; to cross the threshold of the Holy Door, purifies and takes us to a living and personal encounter with Jesus.

"An indulgence” is the remission before God of the temporal punishment for sins, already forgiven, as regards guilt, which a willing and faithful person obtains through the mediation of the Church, which, as the administrator of redemption, distributes and applies with authority the treasure of grace that Christ left him.

TO RECEIVE THE PLENARY INDULGENCE IT IS NECESSARY TO:

1. To have interior disposition of a total detachment from sin, even venial.
2. Going to confession (20 days before or 20 days after).
3. Receive Communion (preferably at Mass).
4. Pray for the Pope’s intentions.

Indulgences are only applicable to oneself or to a deceased. 

Only one indulgence can be received per day

¿Why is it called a plenary indulgence?

It is called a plenary indulgence because it fully abolishes the penalty to be paid for sins committed that have already been confessed up to that point. This penalty (if you do not have plenary indulgence) is paid in two ways: with the suffering and good works in this life or the time in purgatory.

Para recibir la indulgencia plenaria es necesario: 

1. Tener la disposición interior de un desapego total del pecado, incluso venial.
2. Confesarse (20 días antes o 20 días después).
3. Comulgar (preferiblemente en Misa).
4. Orar por las intenciones del Papa.

Las indulgencias sólo son aplicables a uno mismo o a un difunto. 

Sólo se puede recibir una indulgencia al día.

¿Por qué se le llama indulgencia plenaria?

Se llama indulgencia plenaria porque suprime plenamente la pena que se debe pagar por los pecados cometidos ya confesados hasta ese momento. Esa pena (de no contar con la indulgencia plenaria) se paga de dos formas: con los sufrimientos y obras buenas de esta vida o con un tiempo en el purgatorio.
